Remote Filming

We are currently experimenting with the idea of remote filming. This involves actors filming their lines independently against plain dark backgrounds. The movie clips are then edited together, adding the background environment giving the impression that the actors were in the same room.

The effect, does not completely replicate in person filming, but is used as a stylistic choice. It also has the advantage of being able to cast worldwide for actors.

The technique does require some autonomy on the part of the actors in being able to produce reasonable quality footage, so we are starting of with a micro-short film as a proof of concept. With the increase in the availability of good cameras this is becoming an increasingly viable option.
